She was predeceased by: her mother Lula Mae Locklear; her grandfather-in-law Beulah McMillian; and her godmother Ma Copp. She is survived by: her husband Gary Cromartie; her mother-in-law Joan McMillian (Jimmy); her children, Steven Locklear, Ernest Mallory (Geneva), Ethan Crawford, Jareka Locklear of Greensboro, Mamie Mallory Waller (Omar) of Fayetteville and Lareka Casey (Shawn) of Greensboro; her grandchildren, Sincere, Cheyenne, Diamond, Elisha, Natahila, Nykas, Lornelius, Brilynn, Khilah and Brivanna; her stepchildren, Shawn Gilchrist and Shavonah Gilchrist (J. K. K. Trey); her nieces, Shakeia Singletary and Serenity Dial; and her close friend Aretha McDougald.

She was the founder & CEO of Better Days Foundation Inc. A nonprofit organization designed to help at risk families fighting addiction & separation to stay together.
