With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph Forman Thorndyke Jr. (Lumberton, North Carolina), who passed away on July 4, 2019 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph F. Thorndyke, Sr. and Vivian Lamb Thorndyke; and his wife Frankie Sutton Thorndyke. He is survived by: his children, James Thorndyke of Little River, SC, Sammy Thorndyke (Laura) of Orrum, Donald Thorndyke (Frances) of Lumberton and Kathy Collins (Lenwood) of Orrum; and his siblings, Ed Thorndyke of Tar Heel, Luke Thorndyke of Lumberton, Lib Nye of Lumberton, Kellan Byrd of Lumberton, Veila Nye of Lumberton and Shelia Thorndyke of Lumberton. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
