With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Juanita Barnes (Lumberton, North Carolina), who passed away on January 11, 2023 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Fuller Locklear; her husband Melton "Buck" Barnes; and her siblings, Tommie, Theodore, John Douglas, Galloway, Lewis and Vera Blanche Hagans.
She is survived by: her children, Melton Daniel Barnes (Carla) and Benita Barnes; her grandchildren, Shamar Barnes (Hilda), Chona Hamilton (Chris) and Colton Daniel Barnes (Jenna); and her sister Willie Lee Basaluda (Ramon) of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity or organization of your choice.
