She was predeceased by: her parents, Rossie Cox, Sr. and Vera Anderson Cox; her husband Herbert Dan Shepherd; and her son Michael Hucks. She is survived by: her sons, Joey Hucks (JoAnn) of Lumberton, NC and Keith Hucks (Angie) of Clayton, NC; her grandchildren, Mandell Hucks, Joey, Nikki Hucks and Miranda Hucks; her great grandchildren, Maci, Walker, Tori, Joseph and Cleo; her siblings, Henry Cox of Lumberton, NC, Rossie "Buddy" Cox, Jr. of Lumberton, NC and Alma Jewel Durden of Bladenboro, NC; her niece Judy Walters of Bladenboro, NC; and her close friend Jeannette Aldridge of Parkton, NC..
