She was predeceased by: her parents, Olin Hunt and Lula Mae Oxendine Hunt; her siblings, Olin (Hunt, Jr.), Franklin Hunt, James Earl Hunt, Elise Callahan, Donna Lockley, Irene Oxendine and Betty Carol Hunt; and her grandchildren, Tony Junior Schmale, Ricky Blake Chavis, Jr. and LaKota Brian Chavis.
She is survived by: her sisters, Corless Sweat of Fairmont, NC and LaRue Hunt of Fairmont, NC; her children, Stacey Schmale, Phyllis Schmale, Tony Schmale (Shirley) of Pembroke, NC, Tammy Schmale Locklear (James) of Rowland, NC, Suzette "Susie" Chavis of Lumberton, NC, David Schmale (Kathy) of Orrum, NC and Shawn Schmale of Pembroke; and her grandsons, Ricky Chavis of Pembroke, NC, David Schmale, Jr. of Elizabethtown, NC, Samuel Locklear of Pembroke, NC, Brent Alan Schmale of Pembroke, NC and Daniel Lee Chavis of Pembroke, NC. She is also survived by nineteen other grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
