He was predeceased by: his parents, James Thompson (Jim) of Shannon, NC and Armatha Locklear; his siblings, Alton Dial of Laurinburg, NC, Theodore Locklear (Drake), John Locklear (Sonny Boy) and Frances Thompson Locklear of Lumberton, NC; his son Raven Locklear of Lumberton, NC; and his grandchildren, Viola Clark Locklear of Lumberton, NC, Raven Demetrious Locklear of Monroe, NC, Joshua Carter Hellon, England and Melissa Locklear of Lumberton, NC..
He is survived by: his children, Verna Locklear Jacobs (Lamar Whitehead), Audrey Locklear (Edward), Gail Locklear, Harley Locklear (Carolyn), Merriel Locklear and Ronald Locklear (Mary-Lonie); his sisters, Dorothy Hammonds of Lumberton, NC and Frances Oxendine; and his close friend Carson Lowery. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; thirteen great-great grandchildren.
