He was predeceased by: his parents, John Stephens and Mary Brown Stephens. He is survived by: his children, Tahesha Stephens of Chadbourn, Paula Huggins (Wilbur) of Atlanta, Georgia and Christopher Vereen of Durham; his grandchildren, Runako Vereen, Olivia Vereen, Danita Williams, Brittany Huggins, Brandon Huggins, Rashad Stephens and Cirrea Vereen; his siblings, Annie Everette Prince George (Harvey), Patricia Reed (Charles) of Chadbourn and Robert Stephens (Margo) of Clarkton; and his aunt Elsie Ray Brown of Chadbourn. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
