He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Cook Pennington. He is survived by: his children, Raymond Scott Pennington (Sally) of Lumberton and Jeri Pennington Hyland (Dick) of Scottsdale, AZ; his grandchildren, Kaycie Hyland-Ressa (Ryan), Kelly Springs and Marcie Gettys (Kyle); his great grandchildren, Raif Ressa and Sellers Gettys; and his cousin Judy Taggert of Greensboro.
