He was predeceased by: his siblings, Jackie Phillips and Faye P. Brown. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn S. Phillips; his son Johnnie Carroll Phillips (Kathy); his grandchildren, John Shannon Phillips and Thomas Michael Phillips (Jerri); his great grandchildren, Austin, Madison, Kristina, Christopher, K'Anna and Sara; his sisters, Peggy P. Britt (Barry) of Lumberton, Gloria P. Tyner (Kenny) of Lumberton and Dale P. Johnson (Danny) of Lumberton; and his nephews, Shane, Danny and Tommy.
