He was predeceased by: his parents, Milburn Ellis and Ruby Tyner Ellis; and his son Raymond "Ty" Ellis, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Alice Faye Ellis; his daughter Tammy Ellis Coleman (Johnny); his stepchildren, Amanda Britt (Luther) and Don Britt (Susan); his grandchildren, Danielle Coleman (Tron Brooks), Megan Coleman Scott (Arron), Bethany Ellis, Priscilla Eveans (Mike), Harley Carter, Mindy Carter, Trent McDougald (Kenzie), Travis Britt (Rebecca) and Jared Britt; and his siblings, Mary Ellen Smith of Lumberton, NC, Milburn Ellis, Jr. (Linda) of Shannon, NC and Murray Ellis (Ann) of Sumter, SC. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
