With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Mayers of Lumberton, North Carolina, who passed away on November 3, 2021 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlton Bishop Pate and Ruth Parker Pate; her husband Lonnie Mayers; her former husband Cecil Wilkins; and her sister Martha Pate Kelly.
She is survived by: her children, Peggy Wilkins Ward (Sammy) of Lumberton, NC, Eddie Mayers (Sarah) of Lumberton, NC, Kathy Mayers of Lumberton, NC and Helen Walters (Ronald) of Lumberton, NC; her grandchildren, Pam Ward Gil (Rainier), Richard Ward, Taylor Mayers, Sam Mayers, Karen Hendren (David), James Mayers, Ronnie Walters, Jr. (Pam), Tammy McCartney and Melissa Hall (Wade); her great grandchildren, Evan Odum, Seth Odum, Laiken Ward, Zachery McCartney (Brianna), Emily Hall and Whitney Hall; and her nephew Dr. Douglas Kelly (Caroline).
