We are sad to announce that on November 15, 2019, at the age of 69, Sharon McCarthy Johnson (Lumberton, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dennis Paul McCarthy and Mary Florence Britt; her husband Ted Johnson; her former husband Eddie Van Dolson; her sister-in-law Margaret Dale McCarthy; and her nephew Paul McCarthy.
She is survived by: her siblings, Mike McCarthy of Lumberton, Colleen Brown (Ron) of Lumberton and Rosemary McCarthy-Mareka (Joe) of Efland, NC; her siblings' children, DeeDee Rouse (David) of Orrum, Michelle Smith (Graham) of Lumberton, Patrick Brown of Lumberton and Matthew Mareka (Karly) of Seattle, WA; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Abigail Brown, Emersyn Smith, Ariel, Adelia Mareka, Marshall Rouse, Paul Smith, Austin and Ari Brown.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Paul Elam McCarthy Memorial Scholarship Fund at NCSU.
