She was predeceased by: her parents, Silas Strickland and Brover Strickland; her daughter Deanna West; and her brothers, Paul Strickland, Wallace Strickland and Harry Dean Strickland.
She is survived by: her husband Ertle Deese; her daughters, Jackie Deese (James Mitchell, Jr.) of Rowland, Erline White (Michael) of St. Pauls and Dena Porter of Rowland; her grandchildren, Erin White of Los Angeles, Deanndre Revels of Pembroke, Ben Cole of Rowland, Tray Strickland of Rowland, Dylan West of Rowland, Cassie Strickland of Rowland and Leah White of St. Pauls; and her siblings, Alex Strickland (Lillie) of Pembroke, Silas Strickland (Betty), Jimmy Strickland (Frances) of Rowland, Mildred Locklear (Corkey) of Lumberton, Catherine Locklear of Lumberton and Diane Locklear of Rowland. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
