He is survived by: his wife Doris Carter of Lumberton; his children, Alexander Carter (Tonya), Dwayne (Aquinta Lancaster) of Lumberton, David A. Carter of Charlotte, NC, Robbin Carter of Lumberton and Vanessa West (David) of Clayton; and his siblings, Joan Bellamy (Tommy) of Pembroke, Margaret McMillian of Lumberton, Braddy Carter (Ellen) of Concord, NC, Michael and Tony Carter of Charlotte, NC.. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
