He is survived by: his close friend Diane Norton; his children, David Smith of Lumberton, Tina Smith of Lumberton, Melissa Smith (Brandon) of Lumberton, Nita Burney of Lumberton, Johannha Flantos (Willie) of Lumberton and Al Ross Hunt of Lumberton; the mother of his children Susan Smith; his mother-in-law Margaret Norton; and his close friend Imran Albarati of Lumberton. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
