She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Lewis Hedgpeth and Annie Ashley Hedgpeth of Fairmont; her husband Dr. Douglas C. McIntyre of Lumberton; her siblings, E. L. Hedgpeth and Betty Hedgpeth Hancock; and her half-brother Joseph Lynwood Ashley.
She is survived by: her children, Linda McIntyre Mansy (Joe), Karon McIntyre Strickland (Gary) and Congressman Douglas Carmichael "Mike" McIntyre II (Dee); her great grandchildren, Bailey of Fayetteville, Nolan of Fayetteville, Avery Strickland of Fayetteville and Hamilton McIntyre of Lumberton; and her brother Carey Hedgpeth (Betty) of Greer, SC.. She is also survived by four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Lumberton, Historic Robeson, Inc. or Wesley Pines Retirement Home.
