Virginia Hayes Leggett Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 28, 2023, at the age of 92, Virginia Hayes Leggett of Lumberton, North Carolina, born in Dillon, South Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gurney Hayes and Mary Caulk Hayes; her husband Howard Lenner Leggett; and her siblings, R. C., Carlyle, Glenn, Wade, Marion, Don Hayes, Oneida Simmons and Martha Lois Barfield.
She is survived by: her daughters, Elizabeth Leggett Barnes (McKinnon Barnes) and Barbara Leggett Townsend (Joe Townsend); her sisters, Mary Francis Pierce, Jeanette Herring and Linda Watford; her grandchild Chris Barnes (Angel); and her children, Savannah, Morgan, Ryan Barnes (Jessie), Jake (Connor), Anna, Kristie Townsend, Lauren Altman (Gary) and Grady.
