He was predeceased by: his wife Earlene Willoughby Gerald; and his brother Smuriel Gerrald. He is survived by: his children, Benny Gerald (Terri) of Lumberton, Melinda G. Atkinson (Sam) of Lumberton, Sharon G. Scheper (Rick) of New Bern and Paula G. Smith (Paul) of Lumberton; and his siblings, Charles Gerrald of Aynor, SC, Eleanor Harmon of Columbia, SC, Helen Hardwick of Conway, SC, Carolyn Bruce of Conway, SC, Lois Smith of Conway, SC, Jeanette Hucks of Conway, SC and Ruth Gerrald of Huntsville, AL.. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
