She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Adkins and Ernestine Adkins; her brother Buster Adkins; her brothers-in-law, Wayne Gentry and Pete Smith; and her grandson Adam Purgason.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sandy Fabian (Mark) of Madison and Lynn Denny (Jack) of Madison; her grandchildren, Lauren Fabian Fields (Rob) of Reidsville, Mackenzie Denny of Madison, Christin Carter Joyce (Chris) of Madison, Gary Purgason of Madison and Mattie Purgason of Madison; her great grandchildren, Macy and Tanner Joyce; her siblings, J. W. Adkins (Barbara), Joan Smith, Brenda Spencer (Joe) and Phyllis Morton (Chuck); her sister-in-law Peggy Adkins; Chris Riggs. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and special friends.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Rockingham County Hospice, The Alzheimers Association, or the organization of the donor's choice.
