It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Weldon Womack Jr. (Madison, North Carolina), who passed away on February 17, 2020, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Weldon Womack Sr. and Sallie Hester "Hessie" Lowe Womack; his grandparents, Minnie and George Womack; his siblings, Martha Lee Womack "Bug" and Raymond Lowe; his grandparents, Sally Etta Lowe and Bud Lowe; his aunts, Lena Hayes, Hattie Eva Davis, Willie Mae Davis Broadnax, Beatrice Davis Scales, Margaret Davis Claybrooks, Dorothy Lowe and Martha Dowls; his great-aunt Janie Jones; his uncles, Ross, John and Theoda Davis; and his cousins, Laura Lowe Williams and Sandra Etta Lowe.
He is survived by: his niece Karla Lynn Womack Martin (John); his great-nephew Eric Johnson; his close friend Bobbie Jean Rucker; and his cousins, Jackson Womack, Charles Womack, Keith Hayes, James Ross Lowe, Hester Elizabeth Lowe, Peggy Lee Lowe, Maria Dowls Grant and Mary Katherine Lowe Martin. He is also survived by many cousins, friends.
