He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Wilson Newsom and Faye Vernon Newsom; and his brothers, Robert Newsom and Jack Newsom. He is survived by: his daughters, Ginger Newsom (Zane), Leigh Hurd (Scott) and Sherry Newsom (Duane); his grandchildren, Macy Hurd, Alyssa Hill (Dale), Hailey Barringer, Jacob Martin (Corey), Jerry Seay, Anthony Seay and Ethan Seay; his great grandchildren, Atlas Jordan, Willow Jordan and Cohen Long; his brother Jimmy Newsom; his stepson Chad Scott (Aimee); and his stepgrandchildren, Damion, Larkin and Aila (Donna Newsom).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
