With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Laura Jean Hawkins of Madison, North Carolina, born in Stokesdale, North Carolina, who passed away on July 24, 2020 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Garrett Young and Ima Young; her former husband Clayburn I. Hawkins; and her sister Mary Helen Mabe. She is survived by: her husband Hawkins Drug; her children, Ken Hawkins (Kathy) and Jeanette Day (Dwight "Kip" Wait); her sister Shirley Comer; and her sibling's children, Susan Mabe, Meliea C. Bowman and Frank Comer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rockingham Community College Foundation, Hospice of Rockingham County, or charity of the donor's choice.
