Lockie R. Coates Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lockie R. Coates of Madison, North Carolina, who passed away on January 15, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Woodard Rice and Bonnie Arrington Rice; and her husband Johnnie Coates. She is survived by: her son James Alan Coates; her grandson John Ryan Coates; her brothers, Cecil N. Rice and Preacher Joe Rice; her children, John Dale Coates (Iva Jean) and Yvonne Cantrell (Clay); her grandson Tyler Dale Coates (Lynsey); her great grandchildren, Isabelle Coates, Oxford Ryan Coates and Honor Lockie Fae Coates; her granddaughter-in-law Lorissa Coates Cannon (Brandon); her children, Atley and Sterling; her nephew Joe Ward; Ethel Rice Ward. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Prior to the funeral service and due to COVID, the family will have an open visitation on Sunday afternoon from 4pm until 7pm at Arrington Branch Baptist Church for those who would like to pay their respects to Lockie.
