It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Russell Sherman Hylton Sr. (Madison, North Carolina), born in Raleigh, West Virginia, who passed away on February 3, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Green Hylton and Etta Ocie Meadows Hylton; and his siblings, Robert, Emmett, Carl, James Hylton, Willa Mae Shelton, Henrietta Cassidy and Lelia Rorrer.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Mabe Hylton; his children, Russell Hylton, Jr. (Pennie), Karen Vernon (Alex), Sharron Hylton (David), Brenda Smith (Ed), Michael Shelton (Amanda) and Timmy Shelton (Deanna); his grandchildren, Samuel, Jessie, Will, Amy, Chase, Austin, Cody, Emily, Trevor, Trent and Spencer; his great grandchildren, Bentley, Kaison and Hazel; his siblings, Wesley Hylton (Maxine), Charles Hylton (Velma) and Pina Nance (Ray); his brother-in-law Delmas Rorrer; and his pets, Molly, Marley and Smokey. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his special friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
