He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe M. Payne and Myrtle Wilde Payne; and his stepdaughter-in-law Pam Burnette. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Shope Payne; his son Monty Payne (Sherri); his stepsons, Larry Burnette, Jerry Burnette and Ricky Burnette (Judy); and his grandchildren, Shonn, Jeremy, Nathan, Brandon, Kristin and Amber. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
