He was predeceased by: his wife Artie Dodson Watkins; his parents, James Walter Watkins and Ola Virginia Newman Watkins; his grandchildren, Keith Carter and Rebecca Pearman; and his brother James Franklin Watkins.
He is survived by: his children, Anthony Watkins (Mary), Timothy Allen Watkins (Cindy), Gary Watkins (Paula) and Desiree W. Bowman (Scott); his brothers, Ronnie Watkins and Vonn Watkins (Karen); and his grandchildren, Eric (Carla), Ryan Watkins, Melissa Boyd (Kevin), Tara Medlin (Chris), Joshua Watkins (Lacey) and Ashley Paldino (Daniel). He is also survived by five great- grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
