He is survived by: his wife Laura Spence Payne; his children, Billy, Tom, Scott and Anne Patterson; his grandchildren, Thomas, Benjamin, Garrison, Abigail, Rachel Payne, Abbey, Jake and Alex Patterson; and his sister Gloria Payne Edwards.
