We are sad to announce that on July 5, 2025, at the age of 93, Mary Wanda Strickland Cavenaugh of Magnolia, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Mary Wanda Strickland may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Forest Strickland and Unity Willets Strickland; and her husband Marion Leo Cavenaugh. She is survived by: her children, Carroll Leo Cavenaugh of Magnolia and Marion Jeanine Cavenaugh of Magnolia; and her niece Phyllis Carter of Wake Forest.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Devotional Gardens (1260 NC 24 and 50, NC-24, Warsaw, NC 28398).
