We bid farewell to Betty Sue Hovis Abernathy of Maiden, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 9, 2025 at the age of 93. Betty Sue Hovis touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee Hovis and Flossie Drum Hovis; her husband Lewis Abernathy; her son Terry Abernathy; and her sister Bertie Lee Fish.
She is survived by: her daughter Doris Lemmond (Raymond "Ray") of Maiden; and her grandchildren, Raymond Lemmond III of Newton, Jason Lemmond (Jennifer) of Maiden, Glenda Karlowitsch (Alfred) of Maiden and Abigail Queen (Mike) of Maiden. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Mt. Ruhama Baptist Church (3273 Mt Ruhama Church Rd, Maiden, NC 28650). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
