It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Fletcher Wheeler (Manteo, North Carolina), who passed away on December 17, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosa Snoddy and William Waite Wheeler, Sr.; and his siblings, Jean O'Neal, Eleanor Swindell, Evelyn Wise, Aubrey Wheeler, Doris Jernigan, Mae Lupton, Dorothy Cahoon and Margie Alexander.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Cahoon Wheeler; his children, Deborah Wheeler Pledger of Manteo and Walter Michael Wheeler of Hyde County; his grandchildren, Christopher, Quintin, Hannah, Zac and Andrew; his great grandchildren, Zaiyden and Hailey; and his siblings, Marian Carawan of Swan Quarter, Joyce Carawan of Swan Quarter and William "Bill" Wheeler of Manteo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity or organization of one's choice.
