It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Willie Gay of Marietta, North Carolina, born in Laurinburg, North Carolina, who passed away on June 12, 2020, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Marvin Gay Jr. and Christine Chandler Gay; and his sisters, Rosetta Gay and Jenerett Gay Glass. He is survived by: his wife Fonnie Blue Gay; his son Timothy Gay (Wanda) of Maxton, N. C.; his siblings, James Ervin Gay, Levern Gay of Laurinburg, N. C., Eva Gay Jefferies (John) of Fayetteville, N. C. and Linda Davis (Martin) of Laurinburg, N. C.; his parents-in-law, James Blue (Patricia), Roger Blue, Janet Blue and Dr. Judy Blue Goins (Sherman); his aunts, Catherine Peterkin, Bernice Morris, Mae Thelma Williams and Evelyn Gaddy; and his uncle Jesse Edwards (Faye). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
