She was predeceased by: her father John Skeens, Sr.; her son Don Clayton; and her siblings, Billie Charles, Ollie Smith, John Skeens, Jr., Jim Skeens and Fon Skeens.

She is survived by: her children, John Clayton (Chryssa) and Karen Sparks (Tony); and her brother Curtis Skeens. She is also survived by five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
