It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cathern Vess (Marion, North Carolina), who passed away on February 1, 2021, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Stockton and Florence Hollifield Stockton. She is survived by: her granddaughters, Caroline Hensley Wheeler and Megan Denise Vess; her husband Wayne Vess; her children, Donna Hensley (Eric) of Afton, Terry Vess (Dianne) of Bakersville, Tim Vess (Heather) of Marion, Josh Vess (Beth) of Marion, Michael Vess (Sarah) of Green Mountain, Randall Vess (Amber) of Marion and Mary Weaver (Scotty) of Marion; and her siblings, Jean Presnell, Jim Stockton, Linda Boone and Faye Cuthbertson. She is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and her many nieces and nephews.
