She was predeceased by: her father Clarence Poteat; her husband Paul Dean Hughes; her daughter Beth Hughes Garrett; and her siblings, Monyon Poteat, Ray Poteat, Robert "Pug" Poteat and Vicki Pool.
She is survived by: her mother Alice Lewis Poteat; her son Greg Hughes (Amy); her son-in-law Thomas Garrett; and her grandchildren, Camryn DeLuca (John), Brittany Hughes, Brooke Garrett and Seth Hughes. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
