He was predeceased by: his parents, Granville Pritchard and Flossie Davis Pritchard; and his son Mark Dwane Pritchard. He is survived by: his sons, Joseph Pritchard (Marny) of Morganton, Wade Pritchard (Suzanne) of Taylorsville, KY and Gary Pritchard (Shelly) of Valdese; his daughters-in-law, Cathy Pritchard of Morganton and Diane Pritchard of Marion; and his sisters, Susan Owens of Sophia and Coralie Hayes of High Point. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
