He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Mathis and Pauline Raines Bartlett; his wife Gail Mathis; and his siblings, Wayne Mathis, Shirley Mathis and Lucille Owensby.
He is survived by: his children, Dale Alimo and Buster Mathis (Michelle); his sister Ann Effler (Paul); his grandchildren, Shane, Shawn, Matthew, Amber, Megan and Brooke; his great grandchildren, Nathan, Spencer, Brayden, Lilliana, Raelyn, Brayden M., Addison and Brantley; and his friend Sandy Mathis.
