She was predeceased by: her parents, John Corpening, Sr. and Thelma Dula Corpening; and her brothers, John Corpening, Jr. and Aaron Corpening. She is survived by: her husband Alfonso Hardy of Marion; her sons, Douglas Burgess (Ramona) of Lenoir, Thomas Burgess of Lenoir and Barry Burgess of Houston, TX; her siblings, Calvin Corpening of Morganton, Irma Patterson of Morganton, Dorothea Honer of Lenoir and Delphine Powell of Lenoir; and her close friends, Robin and Misty. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
