With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jimmy Smith of Marion, North Carolina, who passed away on December 25, 2020 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Smith and Martha Lou Pope Smith; and his sisters, Dorothy Letterman, Glenda Boyd and Ethel Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Polly Lanning Smith; his children, Timothy E. Smith (Lisa), Kevin Craig Smith and Karen Ricker (Brian); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Fritts (Ben) and Kierstyn Ricker; his siblings, Junior Smith (Betty), Robert Smith, Eddie Smith, Ella Clark, Kenneth Smith, Troy Smith, Annie Stewart, Carolyn Randolph (Steve) and Johnny Smith (Jamie); his brother-in-law Jim Boyd; and his pets, Jake, Benji and Pee Wee.
Those who are attending the visitation and/or graveside service, due to current COVID-19 restrictions, are encouraged to wear a mask and exercise social distancing.
