He is survived by: his wife Betty Sprinkle Kaylor; his children, Barbara Brewer (Jim), Kathy Brewer (Johnny), Ida Mock (Larry), David Kaylor (Barbara) of Glenwood and Scott Kaylor (Kathy) of Glenwood; his siblings, Margaret Earley of Concord and Cecil Kaylor of Mountain City, TN.; his grandchildren, Nerissa Brewer Baker (Andy) of Blairsville, Georgia, Amanda Brewer Lael (Aaron) of Hickory, Chad Brewer (Sarah) of Glenwood, Carrie Brewer Franklin (Brian) of Glenwood, Aimee Brewer Yeates (Quincy) of Knoxville, TN., Sarah Brewer Lancaster (Zachary), Canton, Kasey Mock Stevens (Jamie) of Old Fort, Bryant Mock (Marie) of Glenwood, Matt Kaylor (Katie) of Glenwood and Eighteen; and his great grandchildren, Logan, Bryson, Trent, Mason, Averie, Addyson, Marlee, Roby, Janee, Joanna, June, Ashri, Elaina, Lillie, Noah and Jonah.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be given to the Endowment Fund of the Public Schools of McDowell County at 334 S. Main Street, Marion, NC 28752 in honor of Joe's service and dedication to McDowell County Schools.
