He was predeceased by: his parents, John Messer and Mildred Mullins Messer; and his son Kenneth Ray Messer, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Thelma Radford Messer; his children, Teresa Price, Debbie Earley (Jack), Carolyn Ramsey (Tim), Linda Owensby (Randy), William Messer (Tina) and Gary Messer (Jennifer); and his sister Brenda Braswell. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
