She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Hensley and Ethel Byrd Hensley; her husband Walter "Bud" Shepherd; her son Timothy Phillip Shepherd; and her sisters, Ola Faye Hensley and Sandra Hensley Bond.
She is survived by: her children, Tammy Walls (Guy) of Marion, Tonya Newton (Johnny) of Nebo and Terry Shepherd (Amy) of Rutherfordton; her sister Freddie Wilson of Nebo; her grandchildren, Mandi Hawkins Pittman (Jeremy), Johnathon Newton (Hollie), Dusty Hawkins (Jennifer), Chris Newton (Sarah), Stephanie Poteat (Andrew) and Josiah Shepherd; and her great grandchildren, Eli Pittman, Jake Pittman, Christopher Newton, Gina Newton, Hunter Newton, Greyson Newton, Presley Newton and Hailey Hawkins. She is also survived by her children and grandchildren, Nanny.
