She was predeceased by: her parents, Lazelle Barber Oates, Sr. and Earcle Mae Lewis Oates; and her brother Lazelle Barber Oates, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Guy Davenport; and her brother John "Pody" Oates. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
