She was predeceased by: her parents, John Henry McCumbee and Margaret Merritt McCumbee; her husbands, Jerry Scott and Roger Godwin; and her daughters, Patricia Cooper and Melissa Simmons.
She is survived by: her children, Jerry Scott of Bayboro, NC, Stacey Scott of Marion, NC, Michael Scott of Lexington, NC and Katrina Edwards of Mullins, SC; and her siblings, John McCumbee of Tabor City, NC and Hannah McCumbee of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
