He is survived by: his grandchildren, Fender, Joyce Edwards, Ted Mitchell, Ella Von Mitchell, Walter Mitchell and Joan Mitchell; his wife Shirley Watts Mitchell; his children, Rafael Mitchell (Kim) of Marion, NC, Monica Mitchell of Marion, NC and April Shoup (Art) of Marion, NC; his grandchildren, Marcus Mitchell, Travis Peek, Ethan Mitchell (Hannah) and Hannah Woody (Dylan); and his great grandchild Mason Peek.
