She is survived by: her children, Valentine Smith (Nicholas) of Marion and Alberto Portela Jr. (Katie) of New Jersey; her grandchildren, Lennon Smith, Ian Smith, Rosie Portela and Salvador Portela; and her siblings, Casey and Annie.
