She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Broadus Taylor and Clara Chapman Taylor; her husband James; and her son James Robert Norton. She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Paula Lavender Norton; and her pets, Beau and Maggie. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Harmony Grove Baptist Church, 4835 Harmony Grove Road, Nebo, North Carolina 28761.
