He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethan Chavis and Elease Chavis. He is survived by: his wife Annie F. Barton Chavis; his daughters, Donna Lynn Chavis and Carla Renee Gales (Terry Gales) of Maxton; his grandchildren, Brandon Allen Tiny and Tara Simone Rodriguez (Martin); his great grandchildren, Skyler Alexis Locklear, Frankie Renee Harelson, Zayden Star Powell and Noleani Rayne West; and his sisters, Dorothy Scott (Ronny0) and Diana Dial of Maxton.
