It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Etta Tyner of Maxton, North Carolina, who passed away on June 4, 2020, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, David Butler and Lula Sampson Butler; her spouse Wheeler J. Tyner; her children, Shirley Cummings and Marshall Tyner; her grandchildren, Michael Chavis, Orenda Chavis and Mary Joyce Patterson; and her son-in-law Cleave Locklear.
She is survived by: her children, David E. Tyner (Joyce) of Maxton, Nancy Oxendine of Maxton and Bonnie Locklear of Rowland; and her children-in-law, Cummings of McColl, SC and Mary S. Tyner of Maxton. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren, twenty one great-great grandchildren, her nieces, nephews and a host of extend family and friends.
Due to the Covid-19 mandates, to ensure the safety of others attendance for services will be limited.
