He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Guy Jeffrey Chavis (Jo Ann), Megan Locklear (James) and April Chavis (Michael); and his siblings, Carl Chavis (Charlotte), Clyde Chavis (Annie), Donald Chavis, James Chavis (Debbie), Cathy Emanuel (David), Dennis Chavis and Betty Oxendine. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
