He was predeceased by: his parents, Mack Strickland and Adlean Locklear Strickland; his wife Virginia Strickland; his daughter Lisa Clark; his grandson Joseph Bullard; and his siblings, Daniel Strickland, James Strickland, Mack Strickland, Zebra Locklear, Gladys Hall, Noma Strickland and Lizzy Strickland.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Dean Kirby of Pembroke, Clyde Strickland of Hoke County, Carol Chavis (Wayne) of Maxton, Tammy McMillian (Ben) of Maxton, Brenda Bullard (Wilbert) of Pembroke, Vann Morgan (Phillip) of Shannon, Dora Jane Dettler (James) of Fuquay Varina and Cindy Pate (Keith) of Laurel Hill; and his son-in-law Dwight Clark. He is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
